Málaga’s first international Comic-Con unleashes the Force with Star Wars: Visions, Unlimited demos, and thousands of fans celebrating pop culture.
From September 25 to 28, Málaga became the epicenter of European pop culture with the first international edition of San Diego Comic-Con outside the United States. Over 120,000 fans gathered at the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos (FYCMA), which transformed into a universe of cosplay, panels, exhibitions, and pure geek energy.
One of the most anticipated moments was the Star Wars: Visions panel, where four directors —Takanobu Mizuno, Masahiko Otsuka, Paul Young, and Rodrigo Blaas— unveiled exclusive previews of Season 3. Attendees were treated to never-before-seen clips and insights into episodes like “Sith,” “The Screaming Cave,” and “The Smuggler,” blending Japanese art, Irish fantasy, and classic Episode IV atmospheres.
The new season of Visions premieres October 29 on Disney+, promising a visually stunning experience that reimagines the Force through diverse artistic lenses.
Although Star Wars: Unlimited didn’t have a dedicated panel, it was present in the tabletop and collectibles area. Several vendors hosted demos, casual matches, and booster pack sales. Organizers confirmed that the game will have official presence in the 2026 edition, including design panels and qualifying tournaments.
Comic-Con Málaga offered over 300 hours of content, from VFX workshops and superhero drawing classes to talks with stars like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Gwendoline Christie, and Dafne Keen. However, the event faced criticism for long lines, water shortages, and accessibility issues.
Despite the hiccups, the spirit of fandom prevailed. Spidermen, Jedi, anime warriors, and monster hunters shared space and passion, turning Málaga into a galactic capital for a few unforgettable days.
